I’m scared of it…you’re scared of it….it paralyzes some and terrifies others. A select few embrace it and learn to turn it into success. Most of us experience a failure to fail. On an average 2 hour shoot I will usually shoot 200-250 photos and in the end I’ll end up with 20-25 good images. What would happen if I only took shots I knew were perfect? I would rarely shoot and I would rarely get a shot worth looking at.
We’re in a new year, with new opportunities. We’re changing parts of the world….changing ministry platforms. Will we be successful in 100% of our ventures? No way….no one ever is. But this is a time of dreaming…a time of looking at what is possible. If we fail to fail then we’ll never accomplish much. But if we know that every brilliant idea is hidden among ones that fail then we’ll know that with each failure we’re one step closer to a success.
Tony Kim writes
Creative leaders try their hardest to make better and better mistakes everyday. We should be exploring, discovering, creating, trying, attempting, and beta testing in every arena of our lives. It’s by improving our mistakes that will lead to real innovation. So measure your progress not by your successes but by your failures. Fail often, fail boldly, and be the champion of mistakes.
